Alyssa has over a decade of experience and specialises in supporting children within a family-centered framework. She has worked with families through NDIS, and Medicare, as well as privately. Alyssa has experience in working with children through face-to-face and online services, as well as experience in coaching and supporting families in developing their skills to be able to connect with and interact with their children, whilst navigating developmental challenges.

She is passionate about guiding parents and caregivers through the process of understanding their child’s unique needs and empowering families to be able to support their child beyond therapy sessions. Alyssa is a DIR Floortime certified practitioner and has a deep understanding of sensory profiles, regulation, and emotional regulation, and how these areas may impact an individual.

Alyssa is endorsed by Occupational Therapy Australia as a Mental Health Occupational Therapist and has experience in working with children with anxiety, who also present with developmental challenges. She believes in the importance of children and youth developing an understanding of their emotions and individual sensory profile, how these might interact, and supporting individuals in learning skills for regulation and emotional regulation. Within her career, she has many years of experience working with those within the Neurodiverse population, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyspraxia (Developmental Coordination Disorder), Intellectual Disability, as well as rare genetic conditions.

Alyssa has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) and has attended ongoing professional development including, but not limited to; Kimochis training (a playful approach to identify and express feelings), Sensory Profile Training, Rhythm to Recovery training (using voice, rhythmic music, and movement to support social and emotional development), Creative Therapy Training, and a variety of Social Skills trainings’. Alyssa is located in South Australia and outside of work enjoys spending time at the beach, as well as time with her friends and their animal companions.
