Anja Kalbus

Speech Pathologist

Anja completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology at the University of Sydney in 2010. Originally from overseas, languages and travel have always been her passion. It was also her goal to make a difference in people’s lives and she has not looked back since.

Anja has mainly worked in the private sector, which has allowed her to guide many of her children from a young age all the way to high school. Anja uses a family-centered and holistic approach and finds it most important to collaborate with parents, teachers/educators and other health professionals to help children achieve their goals; no matter how big or small they may be.

Anja has extensive experience working with children with special needs. Giving clients a voice is the best part of the job – in the process Anja will explain all avenues of communication. It is not always the voice box that conveys our messages – communication is so much more.

Furthermore, Anja enjoys working with clients who may have some difficulties reading or writing. There are always fun experiments that can be incorporated into therapy – though some do not work out (Who knew making slime can be so hard?). Anja believes speech therapy is all about fun, mixed in with a bit of effort.
