Occupational Therapist
Lives on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung land (she/her)
Claudia is an early intervention occupational therapist who works within the paediatric setting, specialising in children 0-12 years old. She finds working as an OT incredibly rewarding and finds purpose in supporting children and their families to achieve their goals. Claudia utilises a family-focused and strengths-based approach, using children’s and their families interests and strengths to make therapy fun, interesting and engaging. She is in her fifth year as an OT and has previously worked in the NDIS and community space.
Claudia has an undergraduate degree in Sports Science from the University of Otago, achieving first class research for her honours in HDL/LDL-Cholesterol, and a Master of Occupational Therapy from Swinburne University of Technology. Claudia has worked within the School Readiness Funding program, supporting educators and families within the kindergarten setting through building their capacity to respond to learning and development needs. Her passion in the area of motor skills development has lead to her founding a small business designing and developing adaptive stationery.
Claudia is Red Cross volunteer, supporting refugee families to settle into new communities and has previously been a support worker. Outside of work Claudia loves to travel, visiting Asia and Europe last year. Claudia is from New Zealand and loves to visit friends and family there. Claudia enjoys the outdoors, particularly hiking, and loves a good cup of coffee.
