Francesca Pinzone is a systems change leader with over 15 years of experience in the for-purpose sector, spanning humanitarian aid, social enterprise, and public health. From managing a field hospital during the Pakistan earthquake to co-founding a social enterprise tackling health service inequalities in Australia, Francesca is deeply committed to creating a more just and equitable society.
She has held impactful roles with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Pakistan, UNICEF in India, and CanTeen in Australia, bringing a global perspective to her work. As a co-founder and CEO of Umbo, Francesca focuses on innovative practice, systems change, and outcome measurement to reduce inequality. She has previously lectured in Social Impact with UNSW and the Centre for Social Impact and is also recognized as a Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center Milestone Maker.
Francesca holds a Master’s in International Public Health from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact from UNSW, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Technology Sydney.
Passionate about equitable access to health services—especially for families in regional and rural communities—Francesca also brings a personal lens to her work as a mother of a child who has benefited from speech therapy.
