Hannah Austin

Occupational Therapist (she/her)
Lives on Karanki land
Languages spoken: English, Spanish

Hannah is a dedicated Occupational Therapist with a passion for helping clients engage in meaningful activities. Growing up and working primarily in rural and regional Victoria, she has honed her generalist skills by working with clients of all ages across diverse settings. While most of her experience is in community-based environments, she has also worked in acute care, aged care, and school settings.

Hannah has 12 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist. In 2017, Hannah travelled to Ecuador for a brief volunteering stint at a small outpatient occupational therapy clinic. She found the experience so rewarding that she decided to stay. Since then, she has developed and led skill-building and social groups for clients with intellectual disabilities and mental health conditions, as well as provided education and support for caregivers. During her visits back to Australia, Hannah has worked within the NDIS framework, conducting Functional Capacity Assessments and Assistive Technology Assessments.

Hannah was inspired to pursue online therapy to make services accessible to clients regardless of their location. She is keenly aware of the challenges faced by those in rural and remote areas, such as long waitlists and high travel expenses. In her free time, Hannah enjoys exploring Ecuador’s natural beauty and is pursuing a master’s degree in international development, with a focus on providing culturally appropriate care.
