Janet

Speech Pathologist
Lives on Potawatomi land (she/her)
Languages Spoken: English, Spanish

Janet works with people of all ages, from early childhood to end of life. She is passionate about ensuring equitable access to therapy and has therefore worked as a telehealth-based clinician since starting her career in 2021. Janet helps clients develop goals that will have the greatest impact on their everyday lives and interests. If a client is looking for help with reading, for example, we might talk about what kinds of things they would most like to be able to read (whether that’s comic books, emails, or Shakespeare!) and tailor our therapy sessions to include those specific interests and goals.

Janet holds a B.A. in Literature and Creative Writing and a Master of Speech-Language Pathology. She has completed training in the Sounds Write literacy program. Previously, she worked as a Spanish-English medical and educational interpreter, and she enjoys working with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. When not working with her clients, Janet enjoys reading and writing fiction, going for long walks, and salsa dancing.
