Megan is an occupational therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience in clinical mental health and community OT services. She has worked across hospital based and community public mental health services in Australia, the UK and Ireland. She has held both clinical and leadership roles within health services, working on research projects in the area of early psychosis and organisational change.
She is passionate about supporting people to identify their strengths and to assist them to identify opportunities to participate and thrive in areas of their life that are aligned with their core values and interests.
She specialises in working with adolescents and adults experiencing mental illness, cognitive and psychosocial disability. She uses a person centred approach to identify the opportunities for change and am highly skilled in using therapeutic alliance to support people in working towards their identified goals. She has advanced clinical skills in working with people experiencing serious mental illness with co morbid issues such as intellectual disability, AOD, forensic or ASD.
She is able to provide assessment and intervention for NDIS participants, including functional assessments, sensory and cognitive assessment and reports for SIL/SDA applications.
She is also a registered provider with Medicare and working towards BAMH endorsement to provide evidence based therapeutic mental health support, with training and experience in delivering DBT, ACT and CBT based interventions
Megan grew up in country Victoria and has been based in Melbourne between various stints living abroad. She enjoys travel, learning languages and being immersed in different cultures. She is fluent in Spanish.
