We're looking for you!
What's different about working at Umbo?
Umbo is a social enterprise created to solve a huge problem – the lack of speech pathology and occupational therapy in rural Australia. We are creating person-centred, evidence-based practice, supporting families living in regional and rural areas across Australia.
We’re a team of passionate, innovative and driven speech and occupational therapists who want to deliver speech services to families living across Australia, particularly those in rural and regional areas of Australia. Read more about our social impact here.
Our core values are leadership, fun, respect and creativity. We don’t need you to have the most letters after your name, or have done the most professional development courses. We need you to be as passionate about this issue as we are. We need you to want to learn, and maintain high quality services.
What is it like to deliver online therapy?
Online speech pathology is not just zoom plus business-as-usual. It’s much more diverse than simply videoconferencing.
To get the best clinical outcomes, it’s crucial to be confident and proficient in providing an individualised approach to each person, using the latest evidence, and a variety of technologies and engagement techniques. It takes a person-centred approach to engage a client in online therapy.
We don’t need you to have done online therapy before to join the Umbo team (the reality is very therapists few have). We can provide you with training on the best way to deliver therapy online for your clients.

Join an organisation leading clinical innovation
At Umbo we're committed to innovation. As a team we're always looking for better ways to deliver therapy and help our clients achieve their goals.
We have run summits on how to deliver online therapy attended by over 700 allied health professionals, and have provided training in online therapy best practice to a variety of organisations.
Ed Johnson, our Clinical Innovation Advisor and one of our co-founders is leading the way in research into online therapy.
As an Umbo therapist you can contribute to innovation.
