Online Speech Pathologist Positions

Are you a speech pathologist? Concerned about the lack of access to this service for people in rural Australia? Want to work from the comfort of your own home?

We're looking for you!

Umbo is a social enterprise created to solve a huge problem – the lack of speech pathology in rural Australia. We are creating person-centred, evidence-based practice, supporting families living in regional and rural areas across Australia. As a social enterprise, Umbo is committed to reinvesting 50% of its profit back into the company to reach more vulnerable communities.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate, innovative and driven speech therapist to help deliver speech services to families living across Australia, particularly those in rural and regional areas of Australia. We are a social enterprise dedicated to working with families to ensure that they have access to allied health services.

We’re looking for therapists who align with our values of leadership, fun, respect and creativity. We don’t need you to have done online therapy before (the reality is very few have). We don’t need you to have the most letters after your name, or have done the most professional development courses.

We need you to be as passionate about this issue as we are. We need you to want to learn, and maintain high quality services.

The Logistics

As a contractor you will be able to work flexibly and determine your work hours and days - from 15 hours per week up to full-time. You can work from any location with a decent internet connection (no NBN jokes please!). You can fit your Umbo work around other commitments you have, including another job, study or childcare responsibilities.

In addition to highly flexible work, we also offer:

  • A chance to influence the direction of an innovative enterprise

  • Quarterly goal setting, including professional development

  • Opportunities to participate in and facilitate internal training activities

  • An opportunity to work with a small team of dedicated and passionate social impact people, who have a range of skills, experience and knowledge... and also happen to be really lovely people (post-morning coffee).
