Speech Pathologist |
Work from home

Are you a speech pathologist? Concerned about the lack of access to this service for people in rural Australia? Want to work from the comfort of your own home?

We're looking for you!

Key benefits of this role

  • Help people in rural communities access occupational therapy
  • Flexible hours
  • Work from home

We're looking for speech pathologists to deliver services online, via video link, all from the comfort of your own home. We don't need you to be overly experienced with telehealth. We need you to be as passionate about this issue as we are. We need you to want to learn, and maintain high quality services.

How the role works from a day to day perspective

As an independent contractor you will be able to work flexibly and determine your work hours and days - from 15 hours per week up to full-time. You can fit your Umbo work around other commitments you have, including another job, study or childcare responsibilities.

As an online role, you can perform this role from any location, even from overseas - we have clinicians in different continents.

You tell us the hours you want to work, including direct and indirect time. We work out which clients suit your expertise and interest level. Our admin staff book your appointments. We work with you to ensure you have the right workload.

We provide both professional and clinical supervision, both one on one and in peer groups. On top of your hourly rate, we pay your super. Our support staff are here to ensure you are properly inducted to the role and supported in a compassionate and caring manner.

About Umbo

Umbo is a social enterprise created to solve a huge problem – the lack of speech and occupational therapy across Australia. At Umbo, we believe that despite where you live, no one should be forced to wait 18 months to access vital health care.

As a social enterprise, Umbo is committed to reinvesting 50% of its profit back into the company to reach more vulnerable communities.

We measure and report not only our financial metrics, but also our social impact metrics. From wait times avoided, to measures of how vulnerable our clients are, to carbon emissions saved from lack of travel, we are passionate and dedicated to our purpose.
